The Power Restoration Process
Restoring power after a major outage is a complex process that involves far more than flipping a switch or clearing a fallen tree from a line. Our top priority is to restore electricity safely, efficiently, and to the greatest number of members as quickly as possible.
01
Step One
First, we check the overall system and repair damage to substations and high-voltage lines.
02
Step Two
Next, we restore power to critical services such as hospitals, police, fire, water and communication systems.
03
Step Three
We make repairs that will return service to the largest amount of customers in the least amount of time.
04
Step Four
Finally, we restore power to smaller neighborhoods and individual members. The final step sometimes takes the longest, as we locate and repair isolated problems.
