Nathan Albright Recognized for Knot-Tying Skills at 2026 IEC Linemen Rodeo

In August 2026, several Daviess-Martin County REMC (DMREMC) linemen participated in the Indiana Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Linemen Rodeo. DMREMC placed fifth overall in the team events, but one individual achievement made the event especially memorable for the cooperative.

Nathan Albright serves as line superintendent at DMREMC, where he has built a career spanning more than 32 years. At this year’s rodeo, Albright competed in several individual events that showcased the skill and precision utility workers demonstrate every day in the field.

Albright particularly excelled in the knot-tying event, where competitors were tasked with quickly and accurately tying a set number of essential utility knots while wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE). His efforts earned him second place in the senior division, competing against many other experienced journeymen from across the state.

“We couldn’t be more proud of Nathan for earning this award,” said Ryan Dant, CEO of Daviess-Martin County REMC. “He is an incredible asset to our cooperative, and we are very thankful to have him on our team.”

The 2026 IEC Linemen Rodeo took place Aug. 20–21 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds. A full list of results is available on the IEC Linemen Rodeo page at indianaec.org.
